Old Films
A Trip to Mundaring Weir by train, 1926
The film was originally done by the Owen Brothers in 1926, shot on 16mm film. This film was given to George Robinson of Ferndale in the 1980’s, probably as a discard. George collected films that were unwanted. George was a friend of Lindsay Morris of Darlington, who set up the Kookaburra Theatre in Mundaring in 1997 and sold to Peter Foyster in 2015. Lindsay had the film cleaned and 2 copies of the film made. He kept one and George the other. In the 1990’s George had a DVD copy of his film made by Perth Audio who put captions and music ("Those were the days") to the film which made it over 8 mins. In 2020 the film was shared to Lost Mundaring by the Darlington History Group Inc.
